Android Has Run Away With The Global Computing Market
Roughly 67% of all computing devices shipped during the second quarter of 2014 run Android.
That is an all-time high quarterly shipments share for the platform, which has grown eight percentage points from a 59% share of the global computing market in the same period last year.
The global computing market, as we're defining it here, combines shipments for smartphones, tablets, and PCs.
Android's massive growth through the first half of 2014 has come primarily at the expense of Apple and Windows.
