Ananya Verma is a name that not many outside the narrow streets of a Lucknow residential locality would have heard of, but only until now! Because what this four year old has done, is surely going to be a record of sort.

Lucknow’s Education Department has allowed Ananya admission in class IX, and she is all of 4 years, 8 months and 21 days. What this means is that if everything goes well and she clears the UP board examinations in the coming two years, she will be breaking the record of Sushma Verma, who cleared her 10th boards at the age of 7.

Sushma is Ananya’s elder sister.

Born to Tej Bahadur, an assistant supervisor (sanitation) at Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University and Chaya Devi, an illiterate homemaker, on December 1, 2011, Ananya also has a brother Shailendra, who completed his BCA at the age of 14. Sushma beat his record by doing so at the age of 13.

A generation of wonders, we must say!
