An ultra-rare Ford GT40 Mk. I, a road-legal version of the Le Mans-winning race car, will be sold at a Gooding & Company auction next month.

The estimated sale price is $3.2 million to $3.4 million.

Consider it a bargain - a 1968 GT40 with some serious racing and Steve McQueen film heritage sold in 2012 or $11 million, making it the most expensive American car ever sold at auction.

One of only 31 original road cars, and with just 3,200 miles on the clock and a recent restoration, the car will likely be the crown jewel of the future buyer's collection.
