Brian Frederiksen's 1850's Gramercy Park townhome is located at the corner of bustling city life and serene views.

"It's a fabulous area because you have the parks right outside, so it's absolutely peaceful and quiet and then you only walk three blocks and you're on Union Square, Broadway, and 5th Avenue," Frederiksen said.

The IBM executive has spent over $200,000 on renovations at at 237 East 17th Street. He told BI that he draws inspiration from his time spent in Paris, Copenhagen and Denmark.

"I've lived in so many places around the world," Frederiksen said. "It's just one of these transitions, finding a new space and developing a new product."
