Amtek Auto Ltd., a leading auto ancillary company, was the top gainer in the derivatives segment with its futures rising as much as 7.5% in mid-afternoon trade. The rise in futures price was coupled with a minor fall in Open Interest, pointing to short covering on the counter.
Meanwhile, Amtek rose 11.75 rupees to 166.40 rupees on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) with 31 lakh shares changing hands on the exchange versus a 5-day daily average of 14.4 lakh shares.
Amtek's market capitalisation has risen 9% over the last one month to 3,670 crore rupees.
