Amazon is eyeing its next step into physical retail - and it will come in the shape of a toy brochure.
That's according to Bloomberg, which reported that Amazon is planning to publish a holiday toy catalog to capitalise on the demise of Toys R Us and entice children into selecting their Thanksgiving and Christmas gifts.
Citing people familiar with the plans, Bloomberg said the printed guide will be mailed to millions of US households and handed out at chains of Whole Foods Market, the retailer it acquired for $13.7 billion (£10.4 billion) last year.
It will plug the hole left by the Toys R Us "Big Book," a bible of more than 100 pages of toys and gadgets marketed at children. Toys R Us shut down all of its stores in the US last month after going bankrupt.
Business Insider has contacted Amazon for comment. The company declined to comment when asked by Bloomberg.
