Amazon will handle returns and refunds for 'Easy Ship' sellers

Amazon India is going to take away the troubles associated with returns and refunds for its sellers who use Easy Ship, its logistics service.

As per a mail sent by Amazon to its listed sellers, users of this service will be offered free returns and refunds for orders under Rs 5,000.

"Amazon is launching a new programme called 'Automated Returns'. You can now focus on your core business while Amazon handles returns and refunds for all your orders and refunds," said the email, shared with ET.

"All Easy Ship returns that you receive from September 1, 2016 will be automatically covered under this programme."

The programme, Easy Ship, sees sellers holding the inventory and Amazon undertaking the delivery, without any charge for the seller.

When it comes to online shopping, while free returns and refunds are a part of the benefits offered to the customers, sellers have to bear high cost of reverse logistics and blocked inventory, resulting in losses.
