Amazon has opened a corner store where customers can get their groceries and simply walk out without having to queue up and pay at the checkout.
Recently, the tech giant revealed Amazon Go, its new initiative for in-store shopping. The main store opened in Seattle, Amazon's central command and offers breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks.
At Amazon's stores, customers don't have to wait in line or checkout formally. There are no cashiers. Customers essentially utilize Amazon's new Go app.
How does it work?
The blog quoted, “Just Walk Out technology automatically detects when products are taken from or returned to the shelves and keeps track of them in a virtual cart. When you’re done shopping, you can just leave the store. Shortly after, we’ll charge your Amazon account and send you a receipt.”
