Amazon is still selling useless Jawbone fitness trackers in the US after removing them from sale in Britain following an investigation by consumer charity Which?.

Jawbone UP, the companion app to the fitness tracker, has been down for more than four weeks. Users have complained on social media about being unable to login to their accounts, sync data, or even start the app at all - effectively rendering the Jawbone device useless.

It follows the company going into liquidation last year, at which point Jawbone Health Hub was started to focus on medical software and hardware. The firm said in May that a "transition plan" was underway for users of the fitness tracker, but more than four weeks later nothing has materialised and the firm's website is not loading.

Which? found that the Jawbone trackers were still for sale on Amazon, Groupon, and Selfridges websites. All three removed them from sale in the UK after being contacted by Which?.

But Business Insider found that Amazon and Groupon's US websites were still selling the trackers. Business Insider alerted Amazon to the fact that its US site was still selling the devices and requested comment.

Owners of Jawbone fitness trackers may be eligible for full or partial refunds in the UK, depending on when they bought them. If you received one in the last six months, you are eligible for a full refund, Which? said.
