Seattle-based e-commerce giant Amazon has plans to reach every corner of India, and is focussing on every geographic segment of India's online retail market.
The development comes days after India’s home-grown e-commerce giant Flipkart said it’s focus is now on India’s rural areas and smaller cities.
"Our ambition in India is to become everything for everyone," Amit Agarwal, head of Amazon in India, told ET. "We believe customers, wherever they are in India, should be able to buy and get products delivered to them."
A few days back, Flipkart had said that the company would reorganise its network so that smaller towns can be better served.

Flipkart and Amazon enjoy the status of being India’s two largest e-commerce players, resulting in tough competition since India’s online retailing market is expected to blow up four times from present $26 billion to $103 billion by 2019-20 (Goldman Sachs study).
