Christmas in Germany is a magical thing, and lit up trees play a central role in the country's famous Christmas markets.

A Christmas tree has been set up at the Town Hall Square of Tallinn, next to the Town Hall, since 1441, and is said to be the first Christmas tree ever put on display in Europe.

Prague's Old Town square shines even brighter than usual during the holidays, thanks to its massive tree, which was brought in from Pecka, a town northeast of the city, this year.
