Briefly comparing the phone with iPhone 7 that comes with dual camera, Huawei launched its new flagship phone, Honor 8, the phone features same dual rear camera setup like Huawei P9, minus the Leica optics. Honor 8 features a dual 12MP rear camera setup (f/2.2 aperture) that comes with laser autofocus and dual-LED flash, and also has features like geo-tagging, touch focus, HDR and panorama. The selfie shooter on the phone is an 8MP with a f/2.4 aperture. The phone is the successor to Huawei’s Honor 7 that was launched in October last year. Honor 8 features a 5.2-inch Full HD display (1080 x 1920 pixels resolution), and is powered by the company’s octa-core HiSilicon Kirin 950 processor coupled with a Mali-T880 MP4 GPU. It’s a dual SIM phone and will be running Android 6.0 Marshmallow running Huawei’s EMUI 4.1 skin on top.
Honor 8 is backed by a 3000 mAh non-removable battery, and weighs 153 gms. The phone sports a USB Type-C 1.0 reversible connector and can charge to 47 per cent in 30 minutes using Smart Power 4.0. Honor 8 has a variant that comes for lesser price, Honor 8 Smart, it has a metal unibody design and single rear camera. The smartphone has tweaked Antenna design like latest iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus with a screen to body ratio of 76.4 per cent. Honor 8 Smart has same 5.2-inch Full HD display like Honor 8 but gets 2GB RAM, 16GB storage and slower Kirin 650 processor under the hood.
Honor 8 Smart sports a 13MP backside illuminated rear camera and an 8MP primary camera. The smartphone is backed by a 3,000mAh battery uses microUSB port for charging.
