A University Of Oklahoma Sorority Was Evacuated After A Massive Fire Engulfed The House

The Alpha Gamma Delta sorority house at the University of Oklahoma had to be evacuated last night after a massive fire engulfed the building, according to local news reports.

We first saw this story on Total Frat Move, which reports that the fire broke out around 11 p.m. Tuesday night. Thankfully, every sister living in the house was quickly accounted for and there are no injuries, although many of the OU students likely lost most of their possessions in the fire.

The cause of the fire is still unknown, but it is believed to have started in the house's attic.

The Alpha Gamma chapter left a post on Facebook thanking everyone for their support in a tough situation:

Thank you to everyone for your outpour of love, support and blessings. All of our women are safe, which is the most important thing. We are so blessed by the overwhelming love and blessings we have been receiving from family, friends, alumna, our OU Greek community, our Sooner family, and numerous chapters and individuals across the country. It all means so much to us--thank you! Right now we are all just so grateful for your thoughts and prayers.

A GoFundMe page set up to help support the sisterhood had already raised over $1,000 dollars as of Wednesday morning - you can check it out and donate here.

Here are some photos of the destructive fire:
