Economics professor Chris Bollinger has been teaching at the University of Kentucky for almost two decades - so he should be pretty excited that the Wildcats made it to the Final Four in this year's NCAA basketball tournament.

Bollinger, however, also has close ties to two of UK's competitors. The Kentucky economics professor receieved his bachelor's degree from Michigan State University and his Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, according to his CV.

As ESPN's Darren Rovell points out, Bollinger may be the "most conflicted fan" in this year's tournament:

Bollinger sent the following statement to Business Insider about which team he's rooting for this year:

I have to say that I will be pretty happy if any of my three teams win (Michigan State, University of Wisconsin, and University of Kentucky). As long as Duke loses, I'm a happy man. I do, however, have a special place in my heart for my Alma Mater, Michigan State University. It's where I "grew up," it's where I met my wife of 25 years, and that's hard to forget.
