Around 9 am ET on September 1 the people at SpaceX got an unwelcome surprise: A Falcon 9 rocket they were testing for an upcoming launch suddenly exploded without warning. SpaceX has not released any details about the explosion, yet, so why it happened or if anyone was hurt remains unclear at this time.
