A London burger chain created 'Dave' and 'Boris' burgers so diners can vote on Brexit with their order

The London burger chain The Diner is making dinner time political with a new poll that lets customers vote on a Brexit with their burger orders.

The "Beeferendum," which we first read about on Time Out, began on March 22, and allows diners to vote for whether or not they think the UK should leave the European Union in the lead-up to the European Referendum on June 23.

All customers need to do to cast their vote is to order one of two burgers: "Le Dave" if they support the EU or "Sir Boris" if they back Brexit.

"Le Dave," named after David Cameron, embraces European flavours with a brioche bun, French Charolais beef, Swiss cheese, and caramelised onions, with a side of garlic chips, according to the food and drink site Hot Dinners.

Of course, "Sir Boris," like its namesake London's Mayor Boris Johnson, is all-British. The burger is made with British ground chuck steak, bacon, and smoked applewood cheese in a floury bap. Unlike "Le Dave," it's served with roast potatoes smothered in gravy, Hot Dinners reports.

The Diner is serving the politician-themed burgers until June 22 at all nine restaurants of the franchise - including Covent Garden, Shoreditch, and Camden - and will announce the outcome of the poll the same day, according to Time Out. The company will also be posting updates on its Twitter page.
