A house has been totally destroyed following a large explosion in Haxby, North Yorkshire.
A relief centre has been set up at a nearby public building, with one casualty reported, according to Sky News.
North Yorkshire Police tweeted at 08.20 am (GMT): "Emergency services are currently at the scene of an explosion at a property in Springwood #Haxby extensive damage & area cordoned off."

A neighbour who was near to the property at the time of the explosion told the Press Association:
"The house has been completely flattened. It sounded as if a bus or something had crashed into a house, or like an aeroplane crash. All the properties adjacent to the one that's blown up have got damaged windows and garages."
