A massive fire ripped through a five-star hotel in Scotland on Monday morning, leaving at least four injured.

The Cameron House Hotel called firefighters at 6.41 a.m. local time to say that the building, a stone-built mansion, was ablaze.

Residents were evacuated from the building in Balloch, on the banks of Scotland's Loch Lomond, as more than 45 firefighters attended the scene, Scottish news channel STV reported.

Three victims - two adults and a child - were taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow, while a fourth was taken to the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley, the BBC reported. Their conditions remain unknown.

Firefighters are still at the scene, the Scottish Fire and Rescue told Business Insider in a statement.

It said: "Firefighters are currently in the process of searching the building while fighting the fire using powerful water jets."

A family with a baby was rescued from a third-floor window as smoke continued to billow out of the building, STV reported.

Cameron House said on its website that it had closed to arriving guests for at least the next two days, citing an "ongoing incident."

The hotel houses luxury lodges, a spa, and multiple restaurants.
