A fitness instructor was shamed for wearing a minidress to a wedding - now she's speaking out
Minneapolis-based fitness instructor Liz Krueger was shamed by other women when she wore a minidress to a wedding - but now she's fighting back with kindness.
Krueger, 31, recently attended a friend's wedding where other guests found her tight-fitting dress inappropriate, People reports. Krueger later posted a selfie to Instagram showing the outfit she wore.
"If only I knew that choosing this dress for a wedding on a 90 degree day meant so many women would be outrightly rude to me," she wrote in the caption. One wedding guest even poured a beer on her arm.
"I'm one of those people that's pretty strong. I'm someone when I don't feel comfortable I can usually stick it out but it was to the point where I was like I don't want to be here anymore," she told People.
But Krueger found a way to turn an unpleasant evening into something positive: She received so many supportive responses on Instagram that she was inspired to start an anti-bullying campaign that she's dubbed #KruegerKindness.
"I'm starting my own kindness movement," she wrote this weekend on Instagram. "Whether it's just a party of 1, or others want to join me! I'm going to actively make it a priority to do good things for other women, every single day from here on out...I'm hoping to inspire others to do the same."
