A college student created this plan to save New York City from future floods

New York City is at major risk for floods. As a recent study notes, climate change could trigger floods - like what happened during Hurricane Sandy in 2012 - once every 25 years.

A new master plan for Manhattan aims to adapt to this inevitable future. The second place winner in the urban planning category at the A'Design Awards, this concept was a thesis project by former Cornell University student Walmir Luz.
