Hobby Lobby, a craft store owned by devout Christians, is being accused of discriminating against Jewish customers because it does not offer Hanukkah decorations.

A Marlboro, New Jersey, customer who called the store and asked about Hanukkah decorations was told "we don't cater to you people," political blogger Ken Berwitz wrote on his blog.

Kate Taylor at Entrepreneur did some digging and found the company is operating under a deeply religious ideology.

The company's website states that Hobby Lobby is committed to "honoring the Lord in all we do by operating the company in a manner consistent with biblical principles."

All stores are closed on Sundays.

Hobby Lobby's refusal to stock items for Hanukkah is discriminatory, Berwitz writes on his blog.

The retailer 561 stores and is expanding rapidly, Taylor writes.

Hobby Lobby issued this statement to Entrepreneur:

"Hobby Lobby Stores, Inc. is currently working with our buyers over our merchandise selection. Due to multiple customer requests, we are currently evaluating our Holiday items and what we will carry in the future.

Alleged comments made by employees are currently being investigated and will be addressed accordingly. These comments are in no way indicative of Hobby Lobby culture, the owners and the operators."
