According to The Times of Malta, Bailey, 55, was driving a £600,000 Porsche 918 Spyder when he clipped the grass and spun out of control, veering into the crowd at the annual Paqpaqli ghall-Istrina motorshow in Malta.

Bailey is known for his love of motorcars and owns a "holy trinity" of supercars worth an estimated £3 million, including a McLaren P1 and a LaFerrari. It's estimated he owns 30 supercars in total.

The crash left five people, including a six-year-old girl, critically injured and another nine in hospital with fractures and cuts.

Ambulances and helicopters were sent to transport the wounded while Malta's President Marie Louise Coleiro Preca, visited the scene of the crash. Preca says charities will help support victims of the crash.

"I have no words to describe my sorrow at what happened. All we can do is be there for the people affected by this incident," she said.

A spectator at the event described the scene as "chaos" as the car, which has a top speed of 210mph, spun out of control.

"The car was speeding down the taxiway when a back wheel went on the grass. The car spun out of control, went through the barriers where a large crowd was watching, and into the area of the static car exhibition," they told The Times of Malta.
