Until recently, life was apparently going pretty well for Lidiane Leite, the 25-year-old year old mayor of Bom Jardim, Brazil.
But then she got caught allegedly running the town from 170 miles away using social media platform WhatsApp, and she's now being accused of "siphoning off" money from school funds, CNN reports.

Instead of living and working full-time in Bom Jardim, Leite often worked remotely from São Luís, the state capital, communicating with her cabinet using WhatsApp instead, the BBC reports.
She's now being accused of "siphoning off" money from school funds, CNN reports. Suspicions about Leite's finances began to arise after locals saw some suspicious photos on her Instagram account, which is now private, according to Quartz.
This is not the first scandal in Leite's political career. She only entered the mayoral race after her former boyfriend, Beto Rocha, was banned from running, the BBC reports. The reason for the ban: alleged corruption.
Rocha is currently in jail, but Leite is at large.
"She is the most wanted person in Maranhao [the Brazilian state where Bom Jardim is located] now," Ribeiro said. "She can't hide for much longer."
