Zac Efron just had his lowest opening weekend at the box office ever.

Making an estimated $1.8 million over the weekend, "We Are Your Friends" is a huge disappointment for Efron as he continues to find a niche post "High School Musical."

Bouncing from indies to romantic comedies in recent years, Efron's greatest success was playing opposite Seth Rogen in the 2014 comedy "Neighbors." The film grossed over $250 million worldwide and there's a sequel lined up.

But things are still looking challenging for Efron as the face of a project.

"We Are Your Friends" didn't even break the top 10 at the box office this weekend (landing number 14th), but couldn't even make $1 million on Friday, according to Deadline.

In the movie, Efron plays a DJ who aspires to play in front of stadiums full of people.

He can even get Emily Ratajkowski of "Blurred Lines" fame to bust some moves.

But sadly, looks like audiences aren't as excited to go to the theaters to see his stills on the turntables.
