THEN: Michael J. Fox reprised his role as the time traveling Marty McFly in between managing his Emmy Award-winning role on "Family Ties."
NOW: Since 2010, Fox has had a recurring role on "The Good Wife" as a rival attorney to Julianna Margulies' Alicia Florrick, a role which has earned him four Emmy nominations.
In 1998, Fox disclosed that he had Parkinson's and mainly focused on voice-over work during the early 2000's, leaving his role on "Spin City" in 2001. He later returned to on-screen roles and eventually starred in his own sitcom, "The Michael J. Fox Show," for NBC, which aired for a season.

THEN: Lea Thompson portrayed Marty's mother Lorraine Baines McFly in all three films, with her appearance and life changing based on the timeline.
NOW: Since 2011, Thompson has been on ABC Family's "Switched At Birth" and recently appeared on "The Muppets" as herself.
She appeared on season 19 of "Dancing With the Stars" and placed sixth. She also starred in the apocolyptic thriller "Left Behind," alongside Nicholas Cage.
THEN: When Claudia Wells could not reprise her role as Marty's girlfriend, Jennifer, Elizabeth Shue was cast in her stead.
NOW: Shue joined the cast of "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" in 2012 and was a series regular until the series finale this year.
Also in 2012, Shue appeared in three feature films: the rom-com "Hope Springs," the thriller "House at the End of the Street," and the sport biopic "Chasing Mavericks."
THEN: James Tolkan plays the strict principal who turns into a gun-toting man in the alternate reality shown in the sequel.
NOW: He most recently appeared in "Bone Tomahawk," which is set for release October 23.
Prior to this year's film, Tolkan's last role was in the HBO TV biopic "Phil Spector," alongside Helen Mirren and Al Pacino.
