BAZAM-E-ADAB-The Urdu Literature Society of St. Stephens College
A first of its kind, this society is also one of the oldest societies associated with the college. It explores different genres of Urdu Literature which are varied and also distinct from one another. Every year they organize events that enliven the mood and spirit of Bazm-e-Adab.
THE PLAYERS-Theatre Group Society of Kirori Mal College
This theatre society has a golden history of 52 years. It hosts its inter-college theatre festival annually and showcases and analyses the best college street and stage plays of the year in a non-competitive format.
IBTIDA-The Hindi Dramatics Society of Hindu College
This society was founded by the popular Indian director Imtiaz Ali who still takes active interest in making the society better. This society also holds its annual theatre fest “Medina” which is a big hit in the university.
Glitz-The Fashion Society of Kamala Nehru College
The society is put together by fashion lovers and individuals that take every aspect of fashion seriously. Various publications have declared it to be the best Fashion Society in DU. The society salutes every aspect of womanhood and amalgamates it with fashion to create looks that gives a boost to the personality within.

Abhivyakti was among the first few dramatics societies of DU. Their street play production “Manmarziyaan” had garnered the first position in most of the fests. They are known for tackling social issues in their own satirical and comical style which is prominent in their plays. Chauraha, one of the most popular street play festivals of DU is organized by Abhivyakti along with Shruti, the annual fest of IP College.
SANGHARSH-The Theatre Society of Shaheed Bhagat Singh College (evening)
Ilham, the production of Sangharsh was a marvelous one. The acting and music had impressed both the jury and the audience. They used the concept of live music which was a spectacular feature of their play. The team credits its success to hard work.
MISBA-The Western Dance Society of Sri Guru Gobind Singh College of Commerce
Their unique and comical style of dance makes the audience go crazy. They leave everyone including the jury, awestruck with their amazing moves and use of props. Misba’s energetic performance strikes a perfect balance between swagger and swoon. Their production was a creative fusion of hip hop and contemporary styles of dance.
SPARX- The Choreography Society of Gargi College
Their production Spectrum had garnered praises across DU. It tried to portray the mental status of a person suffering from Dissociative Identity Disorder and the society’s attitude towards them. They have also been successful outside the DU circuit. Their bedazzling production had garnered them the first position in Mood Indigo’14(annual fest of IIT Bombay) and the second position in Oasis’14( the annual fest of BITS Pilani).
NAZAAKAT-The Folk Dance society of Gargi College
Nazaakat’s production was a mixture of resonating ghungroos and vibrant costumes. Through their elaborate choreography and expressions, they portrayed the tradition of worshipping Lord Krishna. Their performance stood them victorious in the DU fest season of 2015.

The Hans Raj Projekt is an unparalleled combination of bounteous energy, unrelenting dedication and creativity. The band is a part of Swaranjali, the music society of Hans Raj College. It has emerged as the best band of the DU fest season of 2015. They have transformed themselves into a musical extravaganza far too big for the confines of the DU circuit. The band recently featured on 94.3 Radio One and performed at the World Music Day festival held at Ambience Mall, Gurgaon.
LSR WMS-The Western Choir of Lady Shri Ram College
LSR WMS’s winning piece was a creative and melodious one. It was a fusion of two different genres of music- jazz and R&B. Their piece was a medley of two songs, ‘Misty’ by the Real Group and ‘Jailer’ by Asa. The team’s passion for music and their love for singing together on stage is the secret of their success.
GEETANJALI- The Indian Choir of Miranda House
Geetanjali’s competitive piece was a blend of two different streams of Indian Classical Music- Hindustan Music and Karnataka Music. The composition depicted women power. Patience and collective effort of all the members of the society are the main reasons behind their success.
PIXELS- The Photography Society of Hans Raj College
Pixels is one of the most prominent societies in DU. It was the first society in DU to ever host a photography exhibition in Indian Habitat Centre. The Young Minds was a three-day photography exhibition held in February where various artists presented their marvelous and inspiring work. Plickture, the annual photography festival organized by Pixels attracts a large number of budding photographers across DU. It comprises of exciting competitions and a photography exhibition.
GALORE-The Fashion Society of Maitreyi College
Galore’s production aimed to enlighten people on the issue of hunting and poaching of tigers. They wanted people to protect this elegant animal and help in preventing its extinction. The society takes pride in the fact that their costumes are made by the society members within the college premises.
