It's the second time this offseason that the Jaguars have ruled out signing Tebow. Back in January, the team's general manager told the AP, "I can't imagine a scenario where [Tebow] will be a Jacksonville Jaguar."
Based entirely on circumstantial evidence, the Jaguars are the most logical fit for Tebow.
1. They are having all kinds of trouble selling tickets, and Tebow would remedy that. He went to the nearby University of Florida, and the fans love him down there. He'd put butts in the seats, and that's exactly what Jacksonville needs.
2. They don't have a quarterback. Blaine Gabbert has been okay at times, but has hardly looked like a future All-Pro. It's not like they'd have to oust an entrenched, successful starter if they brought in Tebow.
3. They're so bad that they can afford to scrap the old offense and run a Tebow-specific playbook. This is big. Tebow has shown that he can succeed in the
The Jaguars are probably the only natural fit for Tebow right now. Another team with a creative group of coaches could take a flyer on him, but there's no clear frontrunner now that Jacksonville's out of the running.
And that's an ominous sign for Tebow and his chances to land on a roster next year.
