SECRET GARDEN PARTY 2016: Beautiful photos from the spectacular, space-themed music festival in the middle of the English countryside

In its 12th year, The Secret Garden Party - an annual music festival that showcases some of the world's best emerging musical talent in the Cambridgeshire countryside - isn't really a secret anymore.

But it's certainly remote, set on Mill Hill Field in the village of Abbots Ripton, where tens of thousands of people pitch their tents to enjoy a weekend of music and revelry.

Since it was established in 2004, acts like Blondie, Bastille, and The XX, have performed on the festival's main stage.

SGP is no ordinary music festival, though - each year, the event follows a theme. For this year's festival, which took place on July 21 - 24, it was space.

As well as a plethora of interesting costumes, there were intricately designed sculptures, stages, and cosmic-themed attractions. This year's festival was also memorable, as it became the first live music event in the UK to test drugs on the premises.

I went to the Cambridgeshire countryside to experience the wonderfully wacky festival. Here are a selection of photos from the event:
