Ryan Gosling's reaction to 'I'm Just Ken' winning a Critics Choice Award is so wholesome
  • On Sunday, Ryan Gosling's "I'm Just Ken" won best song at the Critics Choice Awards.
  • The star appeared confused when the winner of the category was read out.

"Barbie" star Ryan Gosling's stunned reaction to "I'm Just Ken" winning best song at the Critics Choice Awards was the wholesome highlight of Sunday's awards show.

The track, cowritten and produced by Mark Ronson and Andrew Wyatt, is just one of many iconic moments in Greta Gerwig's "Barbie," as Ken (played by Gosling) performs a ballad about how difficult his life is living in Barbie's (Margot Robbie) shadow.

"I'm Just Ken" was a huge hit with fans, with over 100 million streams on Spotify alone, so it's not a shock that it won best song at the Critics Choice Awards.

But judging by Gosling's facial expression at Sunday's ceremony, he wasn't expecting it to win.

In the now-viral clip, Gosling looks bewildered as the winner of the best song category is read out.

And in that moment, a million memes were born.

Some "Barbie" fans on X, formerly known as Twitter, joked that Gosling realized that this means he'll probably have to perform "I'm Just Ken" at this year's Oscars.

Others compared the actor to an emoji, and the classic "math lady" meme.

One user said the award should've gone to Billie Eilish's "What I Was Made For," which plays during an emotional moment toward the end of "Barbie."

Another joked that maybe Gosling secretly hates "I'm Just Ken."

And finally, The Mary Sue's Rachel Leishman said what everyone is thinking about a potential Oscars performance.

"ryan gosling better wear the faux fur at the oscar's performance is all i'm saying," wrote Leishman.
