Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev were hanged on 23rd March, 1931 for their rebellious movement against the British. Eighty-five years later Indian government recognised their sacrifice by declaring it as India’s Martyrs’ Day. He became a national name when he went on a 116 day hunger strike to protest against the discrimination between Indian and European prisoners.
