Prosecutor Shot To Death Outside Texas Courthouse

A Kaufman County prosecutor was killed Thursday in a shooting outside the courthouse, The Dallas Morning News is reporting.

The unnamed victim was shot across the street from the courthouse, in the parking lot of the department of motor vehicles, according to CBS DFW.

Law enforcement officials confirmed he was "shot multiple times" as he was walking to his office.

The victim was an assistant district attorney with the Kaufman County District Attorney's Office, according to CBS DFW.

Police are searching for two shooters who fled after the incident, Sheriff's Department spokeswoman Pat Laney told WFAA.

State troopers are reportedly on the lookout for an "older model" silver Ford Taurus.

One of the suspects is possibly wearing a tactical-style vest, according to 12News.

The victim won't be identified until his family has been notified.
