In a major ceasefire violation, Pakistani army fired indiscriminately at Indian border outposts along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu, killing one BSF jawan and injuring three.

Pakistani Rangers resorted to unprovoked firing on forward Pittal border outpost along the border in Arnia forward area of RS Pura in Jammu, a BSF officer said.

The injured BSF jawans have been admitted to the Government Medical College Hospital (GMCH) in Jammu.

"Pak Rangers not only violated ceasefire, but also resorted to unprovoked firing", the officer said.

The ceasefire violation comes a day after both the countries held a flag meeting at Chambiliyal border outpost in Samba to discuss weeding out wild bushes along the zero line and adjoining areas to improve visibility during patrolling. This is the third ceasefire violation by Pakistan in July.
