Amazingly, this isn't the first time that Kenneth Cole has sparked controversy with a Middle East-related tweet. Back in 2011 during a time of Chaos in Cairo they tweeted this:

After that tweet Cole himself was forced to apologize on Facebook, writing:
I've dedicated my life to raising awareness about serious social issues, and in hindsight my attempt at humor regarding a nation liberating themselves against oppression was poorly timed and absolutely inappropriate.
