KFC, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell get three different heads

In a bid to enhance sales, Yum Brands has split its operations into three divisions for KFC, Pizza Hut and Taco Bell.

This means Yum India will no longer report to the headquarters in Kentucky and former Yum India chief executive Niren Chaudhary has been relocated to Dallas to head the KFC business across Asia, Canada and Latin America and the Caribbean.

However, the heads of these three divisions will report to their heads in the US.

KFC will be headed by Rahul Shinde, Pizza Hut by Unnat Varma and Ankush Tuli will head Taco Bell.

Gaurav Marya, promoter of franchising and licensing firm Franchise India, told ET, "Yum has been in transition phase after their flagship brand Pizza Hut started faltering about three years back. In developing markets, Yum continues to face a huge challenge and India numbers still don't look robust. Splitting and narrowing focus on independent businesses is aimed at regaining growth momentum."

Yum India had reported an 18% year-on-year drop in same-store sales growth (SSSG) in July-Sept quarter.
