Being a member of a private members club in London is all part and parcel of being one of the capital's elite.

However, these exclusive venues, like Soho House, Blacks, and Morton's, usually have restrictions on bringing in children.

That is why Maggie Bolger, a mother of four children, decided to take matters in her own hands and create Maggie & Rose in 2007 - a "family members club" with several venues in London and in Hong Kong, that allow both children and parents to experience both style and luxury, while also helping in educating their young.

She was prompted to create new venues that were appealing to adults as well as children, after getting "fed up" of some of the "bleak" places that were touted as parent and child clubs.

"I would go to some of these groups in grimy church halls and awful play areas where the food was terrible, the coffee was terrible and it was still expensive - it wasn't a particular pleasant day out for the parents or the kids," Bolger told Business Insider during a tour of one of Maggie & Rose's clubs in London.

Now, nearly a decade later, Maggie & Rose is one of the most sought after groups to join as one of London's elite. There is even a 3-month waiting list.

Not only do the venues have the most incredible play areas for children, it also offers incredibly bespoke cookery classes, art classes, and parties, as well as dining areas fit for Londoners used to luxury.

So, Business Insider took a look around Maggie & Rose's venue in the affluent area of Kensington to see what the fuss is all about.
