IITs blacklist 31 companies from recruiting their students, most of them are startups

Online pharmacy player which has reportedly raised $46.5 million in two rounds, has been blacklisted for one year for revoking an offer.

Hyperlocal delivery start-up Peppertap shut its operations in April as the firm and rivals struggled with a funding slowdown. The company continues to run its reverse logistics business. It has also been penalised for revoking offers.

Management consulting firm LeGarde Burnett Group was also blacklisted for both revoking an offer and after it was found "fake" with no proper office address

Web-based professional services provider, ConsultLane said two students to whom the company made offers could not pass their final exams, and sought up to four months’ time to join their jobs after finishing their graduation.

Job search app Mera Hunar was found to have come up with a different name and hired students for another startup, which attracted the penal action of one year.

Online baby clothes and products company Hopscotch, has also been barred from placements for going back on its offer.

FinTech start-up out of Mumbai Cashcare Technology said there was miscommunication during their interaction with the IIT management, and that they are excited to work with IIT students.

Consulting companies like IndusInsight, and the Houston-based American company LexInnova were struck off the list for towing Flipkart's way.
