Entering a flying school in India
To enter a flying school in India, you must take the entrance test offered by them exclusively. In addition, you also need to clear physical fitness criteria specified by these schools. IN fact this is the toughest part of the job. Only perfectly fit persons can get admissions in flying schools. The cost of the courses offered by flying schools is very high ranging from Rs 20 lacs to 25 lacs. Many banks provide loans up to 50% for joining these schools.
Becoming a pilot
After completing the training, the candidates get the license to pursue a career in piloting. Airline companies hire the most successful candidates trained by these schools as trainees. During the training stage, the salary will not be high. After the training period, the regular pilots get paid high salaries. Even after you become a commercial pilot, you will need to undergo a thorough medical checkup. Health problems can lead to the cancellation of the pilot’s license. Hence the job of a pilot can be highly challenging as well as rewarding.
Joining the Indian Air Force
You must not confuse between a regular pilot and a pilot with the India Air Force. INF pilots are recruited through the NDA examinations. These trainings are offered free of cost. Once inducted into the Indian Air Force, the pilots get salaries on par with the Indian government salaries.
