First, you've got to connect your Automatic app with your Automatic Link dongle.
It only took my friend and I about five minutes to successfully get our Automatic Link plugged into his car.
And then it took another five minutes or so for the app to sync with the Link.
Fast-forward to a few weeks in! This is what a typical Automatic weekly dashboard looks like.
The app tracks and logs all of your routes. You get your overall driving score based on how well you avoid three gas-wasters.
Stay up-to-date on how many miles you drove per week, how many hours you drove, and more.
See each trip you made on a map along with what your fuel efficiency was for the trip.
Don't remember where you parked your car? The Automatic app will jog your memory.
And even give you directions for how to find it.
Never had an engine problems, but if we did, Automatic would have helped figure out what was up.
So, is Automatic worth the $100?
It definitely succeeds in making you a smarter, more self-aware, and self-correcting driver. So, unless you're already hyper-conscious of your driving habits, this app will save you money.
