If you reside in New Delhi, it’s a given that you’re at the mercy of public transport. Your timings depends on when the metro arrives at your nearest station or when the bus comes honking at the bus-stand. However, managing your sleep schedule gets a little difficult when you don’t have a clear inkling of whether the bus or the metro is delayed or arriving on time.
Understanding this issue and wanting to make it easier for commuters to move around the national capital, Google has launched a public transit planning app specifically for Delhi.
The
The app works in two parts- In the first, users can look up for timings and schedules for the metro or any bus number. This process is possible without an active internet connection.
However, there’s a catch in the second part- The app will also notify users with Delhi transit news and major metro delays, but for that an internet connection is mandatory.
One look at the feedback section on the Google Play Store and it is apparent that the app has brought smiles to the faces of a lot of users, all of them praising Google for finally focusing on the Indian user base. Users have also reviewed the app, saying it’s lightweight and simple and works offline, without requiring any processing time.
As of now, the app is only available for Android users and is available free of cost.
