Mixing drinking with driving may sound adventurous, but it is not! Believe it or not, around 70% of road accidents in Delhi were due to A report by Community Against Drunken Driving (CADD), said the percentage of crashes caused by drunk drivers in the national capital was steadily rising since 2010, when it was 62 per cent.
The report stated that prosecution in such cases had doubled as well, i.e. from 12,388 in 2010 to 26,021 in 2014.
According to the CADD report, a paltry amount og 2-5 per cent of the actual numbers of drunk drivers were sent to jail and rest were let off on the spot after paying a fine of Rs 2,000 or Rs 3,000.
