Why have one combo unit in the Beresford when you can have two? Hedge fund billionaire Bill Ackman has just bought himself yet another apartment at his favorite building, the Beresford, for $9 million, according to city records.Ackman has lived in the building since 2006, when he and his (now ex) wife Karen paid $26 million for a duplex unit on the 17th and 18th floor. With this latest purchase, it seems like he is planning to create another combo unit in the building; the apartment he just bought is right next to an eighth-floor unit he bought in early June for $13.5 million.
His latest unit was unlisted (hence the lack of listing photos), but public records show it was owned by the estate of the late Edith Rudolph, with William Rudolph acting as executor.
In addition to gobbling up units in the Beresford, Ackman has also paid big bucks for lots of other real estate in the city, including a $91.5 million penthouse at One57 and a $17 million penthouse at 420 West Broadway.
