Two Indian-origin women make it to Forbes’ list of richest self-made women

Forbes has come out with its annual list of America's 60 wealthiest and most successful self-made women entrepreneurs, called the 'America's Richest Self -made Women' list, and to make India proud, it features two Indian-origin women.

Neerja Sethi, who was born in India and co-founded IT consulting and outsourcing firm Syntel with her husband Bharat Desai, got the 16th rank on this list, while Jayshree Ullal, president and CEO of Arista Networks grabbed the 30^th rank.

The list is topped by Diane Hendricks, the owner of ABC Supply, America’s largest wholesale distributor of roofing and siding, with a net worth of $4.9 billion. Last year, with a net worth of $1.2 billion, Hendricks had got the second spot on the list.

This year around, the list includes 60 names, 10 more than last year.

Talking of Neerja Sethi, the 61-year old Vice President of corporate affairs has a net worth of $1.1 billion, with her company employing more than 25,000 people and boasting of a recent market cap of $3.6 billion.

Ullal, on the other hand, has a net worth of $470 million as the president and CEO of Arista Networks, the role she acquired in 2008. It was the time when the company had no revenues and employed less than 50 people.
