The Pokemon Company
"Pokémon GO" players have gone far and wide to catch the pocket monsters. Sometimes it's led them off cliffs, other times it's gotten them lost in caves. And it's common knowledge that players have been invading their neighbors' yards for the game.
But one home owner in West Orange, New Jersey has had enough. Jeffrey Marder has filed a class action lawsuit against Niantic, Pokémon Company, and Nintendo Co. about kids invading his yard to catch Pokémon, Vulture first reported.
"At least five individuals knocked on Plaintiff's door and asked for access to Plaintiff's backyard in order to 'catch' Pokémon that the game had placed at Plaintiff's residence in West Orange, New Jersey - without Plaintiff's permission," the lawsuit reads, emphasis theirs.
Marder is seeking $5 million in damages. The lawsuit is also look to prevent Pokéstops from being placed on private property without explicit permission.
