A massive and destructive 900-pound snowball caused thousands of dollars in damages to Reed College after its creators - two math majors - miscalculated how it would roll, Reed Magazine reports.

The snowball crashed into a campus residence hall, knocking a wall off its hinges. Here's what the final damage looked like, via Reed Magazine editor Chris Lydgate:

According to the magazine, "Three students sitting in the living room of RCA #7 were startled by a 'huge crash' and discovered a giant crack running down the bedroom wall and a goliath boulder of ice outside the window." A Reed maintenance manager estimated the damages will cost between $2,000 and $3,000.
