9 Undescribed Species Found Feeding Off Antarctica's First-Ever Whale Skeleton Discovery

Natural History MuseumResearchers have found a whale skeleton on the deep-sea floor in Antarctica for the first time. The find also resulted in the discovery of nine new species that were living on the carcass, according to a study published in the journal Deep Sea Research Part II: Topical Studies in Oceanography. None of these species are described formally yet, but we do have information on the genera or families of some, lead author Diva Amon tells Business Insider.
