Unmaad, IIM Bangalore
The Indian Institute Of Management Bangalore has initiated ‘Unmaad’ their annual cultural fest in the year 1996. Initially it was organized in once in three years and as the name refers it’s just a maniac festival which lasts for four days. Now each year the fest is conducted under a specific theme and the competitions will be followed within the theme.
Unmaad includes events like dramatics, music performances, dances, quizzes, debates, street plays, professional concerts and fashion show. The event saw live concerts by Shankar Ehsaan Loy, KK, Kailash Kher, Lucky Ali, Strings and Indian Ocean.
Malhar, St Xavier's
Malhar is the inter college culturals, which every Mumbaikar loves. The St. Xavier’s students organizing committee of 130 people and 1200 volunteers put their heart and soul to make the event a life time experience for each and every participant. The event is said to be an intoxicating treat to eyes. It has been 35 years since its foundation and it has evolved to be one of the largest youth festivals in the country.
Literary arts, fine arts, Indian performing arts, raga, world performing arts, entertainment, theatricals, Comic Katha, Regal Rendezvous, In Focus, Cover Story and Amateur Night made the festival a huge success over the years. The Mr. and Mrs. Malhar is the main attraction of the event.
Festember
The annual cultural fest of National Institute of Technology Trichy is one among the largest fest in South India. The event was started by some of the NIT students in the year 1975 and over the years it has attained immense popularity, which has been proved by more than 20,000 participants from over 500 colleges in 2014.
Several celebrities and dignitaries have graced the festival, including Illaiyaraja, Javed Ali, Naresh Iyer, Anuradha Sriram and Ganesh-Kumaresh many more. ‘Festember Rolling Trophy’ is called as llayaraja trophy, after the legend himself performed at the event in 1978. The fest also conducts competition in various categories such as dance, music, arts, dramatics and literature.
Rendevouz, IIT Delhi
Another IIT which is joining the list is Delhi. The culfest rendezvous is a four daylong celebration held by the end of October every year. The fest which started at 1976 now draws a footfall of about 50,000 from more than 350 colleges across the country. It is also known as north India’s largest cultural fest.
The culturals is famous for the number of celebrities who gets involved in the events. In the past celebrities like, Javed Ali, Anushka Sharma, Ranveer Singh, John Abraham, Deepika Padukone, Imran Khan and Tom Alter have been spotted at the event. Farhan Akthar, Kailash Kher and Mohit Chauhan were some of the famous performers for Rendezous in various years.

The land of sun and Sea, Goa goes in a party mood for three days by the end of October with the BITs college students when they celebrate Waves, their cultural fest. In spite being a relatively new college fest which started in 2006, it has become a favorite among students which resulted in more than 35,000 students participating from 150 colleges.
Celebrities like Vishal–Shekhar, Priyanka Chopra, Kalki Koechlin, Kailash Kher, DJ NYK, Shafqat Amanat Ali, Karsh Kale and bands like Indian Ocean, Agam, Parikrama, Raeth, Dead Letter Circus, Thermal and a Quarter, Blackstratblues have been a part of the festival. Saarang, IIT Madras
The IITians are proving themselves as the best event managers by presenting color full fests every year, giving a tough fight to all the art colleges in the country. IIT Saarang is a widely recognized fest in south India with the participation of more than half a lakh students every year. The five days of celebration is categorized into different departments.
There are events in every field of art, dance, music, apart from literary events and group events like Scavenger Hunt. There are also informal stalls set up every day for spectators to participate in many small events. The Rock show is the crowd puller event, in which musicians of international bands of rock, alternative rock, metal and fusion have performed.
Mood Indigo, IIT Bombay
Mood Indigo is the institute's annual cultural festival, attracting over 75,000 students from approximately 500 colleges all over the country. It is touted as Asia's largest college festival.
It also attracts the biggest names in the world of arts, culture, dance, singing and music who perform at the various events slated for four action-packed days at its sprawling lake-side campus in Powai, central Mumbai suburbs.
