- 8chan, the internet message board known as a home for extremist content, went down early Monday morning after it was linked to the Texas Walmart shooting where 22 people were killed.
- It was brought down when cloud company Cloudflare decided it would no longer allow 8chan to use its service.
- However, it came back online later on Monday after it secured the services of BitMitigate, a competitor to Cloudflare.
- That doesn't seem to have lasted long: 8chan went back offline Monday after service provider Voxility cut off access to BitMitigate and the websites it hosts - including neo-Nazi publication The Daily Stormer. 8chan appears to be offline once more.

8chan, the notorious online message board used by the suspect in the mass shooting at a Walmart in El Paso, Texas that killed 22, is offline once again after a second service provider pulled the rug out from under it.
8chan went offline early Monday morning after Cloudflare, the cloud networking and cybersecurity company, cut ties with the message board. Just a few hours later, though, 8chan was back up and running, thanks to a Cloudflare competitor called BitMitigate.
However, that too didn't last long: BigMitigate's service is hosted from a cloud platform company called Voxility - which said Monday on Twitter that BitMitigate is now "blocked completely."
After the announcement, the websites that BitMitigate hosts - including 8chan and neo-Nazi publication The Daily Stormer - appear to be offline. In 2017, Cloudflare made the controversial decision to cut ties with The Daily Stormer, which it cited as precedent in a blog post explaining its call to kick 8chan off the service.
BitMitigate, Voxility and 8chan have not responded to a request for comment from Business Insider.

Cloudflare announced early Monday morning it had terminated services for 8chan, calling the messaging board a "cesspool of hate." Cloudflare's decision came a day after 8chan founder Fredrick Brennan, who cut ties with the website last year, called on the message board to be shut down.
"Once again, a terrorist used 8chan to spread his message as he knew people would save it and spread it," Brennan told The Washington Post. "The board is a receptive audience for domestic terrorists."
Authorities are currently investigating ties between 8chan and the suspect behind a shooting this weekend at a Walmart in El Paso, Texas, in which 21 people were killed. The El Paso police chief told reporters Sunday that authorities were working to determine whether the suspect had penned an anti-immigrant manifesto that had been posted on 8chan and was circulating online.
However, this weekend's El Paso incident isn't the first mass shooting with ties to 8chan. Suspects in two other mass shootings this year - one at a synagogue in Poway, California and one on a mosque in Christchurch, New Zealand - were 8chan users and posters.
