Flounder from "The Little Mermaid" makes a splashy cameo.
In a scene where Maui uses his magic to take Moana into a flat, 2D world, sea creatures swim across screen in a colorful and mesmerizing display. One of the fish pictured is Flounder, an animal sidekick from Disney's "The Little Mermaid."
MoviePilot.com says Flounder enters from the right, and if you blink, you might miss it.
Maui transforms into Sven from "Frozen."
Maui's magical fish hook gives him the ability to shape-shift, though Moana finds her traveling companion is a bit rusty using it. In a scene where Maui tries to become a giant bird, he shuffles through several transformations first.
For a split second, he turns into Sven, the beloved reindeer from Disney's "Frozen."
The House of Mouse announced that a "Frozen" sequel is in the works.
Olaf from "Frozen" was nowhere to be found, though he's allegedly in there.
In an interview with ComingSoon.net, the movie's co-director Ron Clements revealed that Sven was not alone in representing "Frozen" in "Moana." Olaf appears very briefly.
"Olaf is there, too, but he's much harder to find than Sven," Clements said. "In fact, we need to give a prize to anyone who finds him."

Ralph from "Wreck-It Ralph" bulldozes his way into the credits.
As the movie's credits come to an end, Ralph himself appears among the designs on the right side of the screen. Disney likes to give nods to its upcoming movies in current releases, and the animation studio is currently working on a "Wreck-It Ralph" sequel set for a March 9, 2018 release.
"Moana" throws parents a bone with an awesome "Mad Max: Fury Road" homage.
Halfway through the film, Moana and Maui encounter a tribe of anthropomorphic coconuts called kakamora. Moana remarks, "They're kind of cute."
Then the kakamora paint pearly white teeth on their armor and take up arms. Their ship emerges from the fog, revealing a massive fleet of pirate ships.
What follows is an epic chase that recalls "Mad Max: Fury Road." Just as Max, Furiosa, and their crew set out across a desert wasteland to escape the movie's War Boys, Moana and Maui race across the sea to skirt the kakamora. Their large, ramshackle vessels are reminiscent of Immortan Joe's brigade, while the creatures' painted faces mimic those of the War Boys.
While it's not an Easter egg, per se, we appreciate the thought that went into it.
One of the kakamora bears a striking resemblance to Baymax from "Big Hero 6."

Its wide-set eyes and chalk-white complexion call to mind Baymax, the friendly, crime-fighting healthcare-robot from Disney's "Big Hero 6." The sequel, "Big Hero 7," is in the pipeline.
Flash from "Zootopia" also pops in.
Ron Clements, co-director of "Moana," told ComingSoon.net in an interview that Disney fans' favorite sloth, Flash from "Zootopia," makes a cameo. The furry employee of the DMV (Department of Mammal Vehicles) became a breakout star of "Zootopia."
We couldn't spot him, which is surprising, considering how slow Flash can be.
