6 things you need to know about Hurricane Joaquin

As of the morning of October 1, the exact forecast for Hurricane Joaquin is still uncertain. The storm is currently slamming the Bahamas with 125 mile-per-hour winds, registering as a Category 3 hurricane.

Whether the storm makes landfall along the Eastern Seaboard or not, strong winds, rains, storm surges, and flooding are likely.

For now, the National Hurricane Center has tweeted out six key messages to help people understand the current status of the storm and what we can expect.
