India’s 7’2” basketball player from Punjab stands tall as India’s first offering in the NBA.

Satnam Singh Bhamara has come a long way from his days at the Ludhiana Basketball Academy (LBA) to being the 52nd pick in the NBA Draft for the Dallas Mavericks.

Here are the 5 possible things you didn’t know about India’s new basketball superstar:

1. Despite his towering 7 feet plus frame, villagers from Ballo Ke village call him Chhotu (little one).

2. Satnam led Punjab's state youth team to a national championship when he was just 14!

3. He hated English in school so much that he tore a total of 108 English books till Class V.

4. The 19 year old is likely to be paid at least $4.9 million per season.

5. Contrary to public expectations, he is unlikely to play in an NBA game over the next few years.
